The Northwest Garage provides a dramatic new landscape to the North end of Providence Portland Medical Center. Built between a fully occupied hospital campus and immediately adjacent to I-84, this 9.5-level, 326,000 SF parking garage adds 936 parking spaces that support a large expansion to the hospital.
Andersen demolished an existing building on campus that paved way for the garage and a 32,000 SF medical office building (also built by Andersen) that connects to the garage. The structural steel framed garage utilizes cast-in-place concrete cores and castellated beams that produce a lighter structure and saved time and money for the project’s foundation work.
