The new OR, which is twice the size of traditional ORs, is designed to accommodate surgery, angiography, and endoscopy procedures.
It features an integrated system of high-tech tools such as intuitive surgical’s Da Vinci robotic system voice-activated cameras and high-definition television systems. Operating controls allow physicians to ergonomically adjust lighting, cameras, and suction devices; conduct teleconferencing; and access patient records. The suite also includes a ceiling-mounted fluoroscopy machine that provides 3-D images of the heart for angiography procedures, preventing the hospital from having to transport anesthetized patients to a separate angiography suite.
