This 16-school project was completed over two summers and included 492,000 SF of re-roof and seismic upgrade work.
This project consists of constructing structural seismic upgrades and installing new roofs with sheet metal siding and flashings along with some mechanical upgrades at many of the Beaverton School District's schools. There were 11 schools during the summer of 2003 and five schools during the summer of 2004 with a total of 275,000 SF of roofing to be completed. All work was started after schools were out for the summer and had to be finished before the teachers were back for the following school year. Tight schedules along with many safety concerns made this a challenging project, and with a strong management crew and owner, contributing supplier, and first-rate architect, every school was finished on time and under budget making this project a success for all project team members.
